Obituary for Carolyn Ann Burvee

September 29, 1948 - April 18, 2018

Carolyn A. Burvee 69, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, formerly of Waterloo, died Wednesday, April 18, at Apple Creek Health and Rehab in Centerton, Arkansas.

She was born September 29, 1948, the daughter of Wilfred and Mary Greiner Ireland. She married James Burvee November 30, 1968, at St. Patrick Church in Cedar Falls.

Carolyn graduated from Columbus High School in 1967, and went on to receive her nursing degree from Creighton Memorial St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a nurse at Schoitz Hospital for many years until she retired in 1995.

She is survived by her husband of Bella Vista, Ark.; a son, Todd (Kerrie Burvee-Williams) Burvee of North Liberty; three daughters, Jacqueline Burvee of Waterloo, Michelle (BJ) Meaney of Janesville, and Kathleen (Ben) Burrell of Coralville; and six grandchildren, Jackson Burvee, Trey Williams, Kendall Burvee, Gabriel Meaney, Brendan Meaney, and Lauren Meaney.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers; and two brothers-in-law, John Burvee and Robert Adams.

Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Tuesday April 24, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with burial at Mt. Olivet Cemetery to follow. Visitation will be from 4-8:00 p.m. Monday April 23, at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street and for an hour before services at the church.
