November 6, 1947 - April 9, 2018

REINBECK, IOWA – Larry G. Leyen, 70, of Reinbeck, and formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.

He was born November 6, 1947 in Tampa, Florida, the son of Flores and Myrtle (Wilson) Leyen.

He repaired wheelchairs and worked in maintenance with Goodwill and later EPI. Larry loved hunting, fishing and the outdoors. He was a member of United Church of Christ in Reinbeck and a former longtime member of Hagerman Baptist Church in Waterloo.

Survived by three brothers: Cliff (Kathleen) Leyen of Waterloo, Gary (Nancy) Leyen of Dysart and Kevin (Carla) Leyen of Reinbeck; four nephews and eight nieces.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Services: Saturday, April 14, at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, with visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 13 at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated at a later date.

Larry’s family would like to thank the community of Reinbeck for adopting Larry for the last five years. He was able to be independent and thrive from all of your help.
