RAYMOND, IOWA - Vernita M. Albert, 73, of North Buena Vista, and formerly of Raymond, died Tuesday, June 28, at Mercy Medical Center, in Dubuque, Iowa, after a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 16, 1931, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Thurman and Marie Duwa Hood. She married Milo "Mike" Albert on Oct. 13, 1962, at Hammond Avenue Church of the Brethren, Waterloo.

Mrs. Albert worked for Rath Packing Co. for 37 years. She loved fishing, boating and camping. She and her husband have been coming to Buenie on weekends and holidays since 1967.

Survivors include: her husband; two sisters, Norma (Bernard) Hesse of Waterloo and Marilyn Hein of St. Louis, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: her parents; two brothers, William Newton Hood and Vernon James Hood; and a sister, Neola Ray.

Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at Garden of Memories Mausoleum, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Kramer Funeral Home, Holy Cross, and for an hour before services Saturday at the mausoleum.
