Frank A. Higuera was born on August 28, 1934, in Orange, California, the son of Gilbert and Francis (Contreras) Higuera. He graduated from high school in California. Frank served his country in the United States Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He fought in the Korean Conflict. Frank was united in marriage to Virginia Corson.

He was a workaholic and worked construction his whole life between California and Iowa. He also enjoyed working on cars. Frank died at the age of 83 on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Pinnacle Specialty Care in Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Ray; and a son, Franky.

Frank is survived by his wife; three sons, Mike Higuera of Evansdale, Ronnie Higuera of Carlsbad, California, and Lance (Trista) Higuera of Elk Run Heights; a daughter, Marina (Jacob) Drilling of Evansdale; two brothers, Freddy and Billy Higuera; two sisters, Elvira “Marty” Mead and Francis Higuera; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
