Biography--

Calvin L. Jones, 80, of Waterloo, died Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

He was born July 4, 1937 in Oxford, Mississippi the son of Victor and Addie Anderson Jones. He married Judith I. Holbert on December 15, 1962 in Atchison, Kansas.

Calvin worked for John Deere Company for 35 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, Male Chorus Member and Senior Usher until his health incapacitated him.

He is survived by his wife, Judith of Waterloo; one son, Barry Jones of Des Moines; three daughters: Judith Gandy of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Deidra Greer of Waterloo, Tamara (Devin) Edmonds of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren, Deikeya Greer, Tanisha Jones, Edward Lake, David Greer, Kayla Jones, Edith Smith, Jalen Jones, Devin Edmonds, Zada Edmonds; four great grandchildren, Dyllan, Liam, Jazlyn and Ryan; his adopted brothers and sister, John (Susan) Robert and Gregory Kincaid all of Waterloo, Cynthia Kincaid Harrington of Detroit, Michigan; his beloved cousins, Hattie Mae Toles “Mama Hattie” and Ina Mae Wadlington of Oxford, Mississippi; one half-sister, Georgia “Tiny” (Charles) Thompson of Cleveland, Ohio; a special niece, Josie Fondron of Los Angeles, California and a host of nieces, nephews, friends,relatives and the family of Pilgrim Rest.

Preceded in death by his parents; his beloved mother, Allie P. Kincaid, whom he asked if she would take him as one of her sons and she so lovingly agreed; four half-brothers, Willie, Bob, Rufus, Otha “Ram” Booker and three half-sisters, Alton, Lula and Evelyn.
