Obituary for Susanne "Susie" Schultz

Susanne “Susie” Schultz, 58, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Wednesday, March 14, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

She was born September 19, 1959, in Waterloo, Iowa,daughter of Leo and Rosella Markovetz Reiss. She married Timothy Schultz on July 12, 1980 at St. John’s Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Susie graduated from Columbus High School and received her B A Degree in Broadcasting from the University of Northern Iowa. She was employed with Covenant Medical Center for 15 years in Hospitality (Food Service).

Survivors include: her husband; four sons, Timothy J. Schultz and Daniel (Brittni) Schultz, both of Waterloo, Sgt. Tyler (Courtney) Schultz, U. S. Army of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Dale (Deiryana) Schultz of Evansdale; nine grandchildren, Ashley, Drake, Delilah, Sarina, Dallas, Zachary, Sophia, Hayden and Quentin and one on the way; four brothers, Louis (Virginia) Reiss, Joseph (Shari) Reiss and Steven Reiss, all of Waterloo and Edward Reiss of Des Moines; and five sisters, Mary Ohrt, Janet (Craig) Drewelow and Phyllis (Kevin) Foley, all of Waterloo, Katherine (Greg) Armstrong of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin and Barbara (Gary) Konicek of Rochester, Minnesota.

Preceded in death by: her parents, a son, Dana Schultz; and a granddaughter, Kerrigan. her mother and father-in-law, Vera and Harlan Schultz; a sister-in-law, Bridget Schultz; and two brothers-in-law, Mark Schultz and Del Ohrt.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery, Barclay Township. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 2 p.m. rosary and a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue at the church for an hour before services on Monday.
