Obituary for Ethelyn Misenheimer

Ethelyn “Lynn” Misenheimer, 97, of Waterloo, Iowa, formerly of Chicago, died Saturday, March 10 at Rosewood Estate in Waterloo.

She was born March 20, 1920, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Edward and Harriet Benning Waldron. She married William E. Misenheimer on August 5, 1943, in Chicago, Ill. He died October 12, 2016.

Lynn attended the Art Institute of Chicago and Chicago School of Art and Design. After graduation, she stayed in Chicago and worked as an Interior Designer until her retirement in 2002.

Survivors include a daughter, Jan (John) Hix of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by: her parents, her husband; a brother, Richard Waldron; and a sister-in-law, Patricia Waldron.

Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 13 at St. Edwards Catholic Church with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, both in Waterloo. Public visitation will be for one hour before service at the church. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Catholic Charities.
