Biography--

Dan Shannon, 80, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Pinnacle Specialty Care in Cedar Falls, Iowa, on Sunday, March 11, 2018, of natural causes.
 
He was born January 20, 1938 in Fairbank, Iowa, son of Daniel and Veronica (Weber) Shannon.
 
Dan married Deanna Roedeske on August 7, 1965 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fairbank.
 
He graduated from Immaculate Conception Catholic High School in Fairbank in 1955.
 
Dan managed East Side Liquor. Later, he worked at UNI Physical Plant, retiring in 1995. He served in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge.
 
He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Waterloo, AMVETS Life Member, and Fairbank American Legion Fortsch Duffy Post #552.
 
Dan is survived by his wife, Deanna, Waterloo; son, Kevin Shannon, Waterloo; granddaughter, Dannielle Shannon, New Hartford, IA; sisters: Colleen (Joe) Bovy, Fairbank, and Marian (Pat) Woods, Jesup; brother, Dale (Dorothy) Shannon, Raymond; sister‑in‑law, Susan Shannon, Fairbank and several nieces and nephews.
 
He is preceded by a brother, Pat Shannon.
