Kevin Dale Harms was born on March 25, 1959, in Mason City, the son of Floyd and Wilma (Oudekerk) Harms. Kevin attended school in Waterloo. He went to Castle Hill Elementary, Edison Middle School, and graduated from Waterloo Central High School. In 1989, he married Tracy Backen. They later divorced. Kevin worked as truck driver for Panama Transfer. He was a very adventurous person who enjoyed hummingbirds, Harley Davidsons, the Minnesota Vikings, all kinds of music, traveling, amusement parks, camping, and going to church with his mom. Kevin died at the age of 58 on Sunday, February 25, 2018, at his home.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Kevin is survived by his mother; a daughter, Haley Harms of Ankeny; a son, Tanner Harms of Toledo; a sister, Julie (Vincent) Moye of Reinbeck; three nephews; and a niece.
