Biography--

Carol Ann Porter, 77, of Waterloo, Iowa, and formerly of Oskaloosa, Iowa, died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at her home, of natural causes.

She was born September 30, 1940, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Zelna Keniston Bussey and her stepfather George Eggleston. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and also attended the University of Northern Iowa.

She married Phil Porter on August 25, 1962, in Waterloo. She worked as a bookkeeper at Walton Insurance in Oskaloosa for over 25 years, where she lived before moving back to Waterloo.

Carol was active in a variety of things at Friendship Village where she lived for the past 2 ½ years. She was a proud member of the Village Voices. She and her husband most recently celebrated their 55th Anniversary.

Survived by: her husband, Phil of Waterloo; two daughters, Chris (Tim) Heisterkamp of Jefferson, Cathy (Dave) Harken of Dike; five grandchildren, Erin, Andrea, Philip, Matthew and Rebecca; five great grandchildren; one sister, Laurie Bussey of Waterloo and one brother, Jerry (Fran) Bussey of Bonita Springs, Florida.

Preceded in death by: her parents; one sister, Marlys Baker; and two brothers, Michael and David Eggleston.
