CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Ruth L. Baier, 97, of Cedar Falls, died Thursday, February 15, 2018, at her home.

She was born August 11, 1920, in Clinton, Illinois, daughter of Roy Francis and Bessie May (Johnson) Russell. She married Louis L. Baier on December 15, 1946 in Waterloo, Iowa. He preceded her in death on June 19, 2003.

She graduated from Amboy Township High School in Amboy, Illinois and was a Property Record Specialist with Iowa Public Service Co, prior to raising her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Brach of Evansdale and Christine Craghead of Waterloo; two sons, Russell (Cheryl) Baier of Owasso, OK, and Randy (Patty) Baier of Eau Claire, WI; eight grandchildren: Kelly (Jamie) Fetzer, Ben and Keri Baier, Penelope (Dennis) Nance, Nicholas (LeAnne) Craghead, Daniel (Lisa) Baier, Rachel (Matthew) Nelson, and Elizabeth (Andrew) Burkstrand; seven great-grandchildren: Jaden, Isabelle, Anna Bella, Oliver, Makenna, Hunter and Addison; and two step great-grandchildren, Justin and Kylie Whitlock.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Russell Carter and Rozella Wheeler; a brother, Roy C. Russell; two sons-in-law, Robert Craghead and Eric Brach; and two great-grandchildren, Christalynn Q. Fetzer, and baby Nance.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, Iowa, with burial in Garden of Memories, Waterloo, Iowa.
