Dana Jean (Rowden) Ainsworth was born on August 4, 1930, to William and Edna (Adkinson) Rowden in Gladbrook, Iowa. Dana was a graduate of Gladbrook High School. She worked as a nurse at Sartori Hospital for many years.

Dana married Jack Ainsworth on January 26, 1952. He preceded her in death in 2012. She was an active member at the First Church of the Nazarene in Cedar Falls where she played the organ and taught Sunday School. Dana loved her family and Jesus.

She passed on her love of music and art to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and delighted in their gifts and talents. She was a sweet spirit with a strong faith, even when her disease took from her all things she found joy in: painting, sewing, reading her Bible, and playing piano.

Dana Ainsworth died on Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at Bartels Lutheran Home in Waverly, Iowa from complications of Lewy Body disease.

She was preceded in death by: her husband; by her parents; by a brother, Ray; by a twin brother, David; and by a sister, Dorothy.

She is survived by her six children: Jaci (Bill) Hunt of Waterloo, Sue (Dean) Miller of Waverly, Ray (Karla) Ainsworth of Independence, Jill (Tom) Murphy of Cedar Falls, Mary (John) Syndergaard of Waterloo, and Dana Jo (Rex) Davis of Traer; by 15 grandchildren; and by 20 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to especially thank the staff at Evergreen Arbor at Bartels Lutheran Home for giving Dana such wonderful, personal care and a comforting space in the chaos of her disease.
