Biography--

Rebecca J. "Becky" Peters, age 56, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died at Sartori Memorial Hospital, in Cedar Falls, on Tuesday, January 23, 2018, of natural causes.

She was born on June 7, 1961 in Waterloo; the biological daughter of Robert D. and Mary Stafford. She was adopted and raised by Robert D. and Mary Jo Sampson Murphy. She graduated from Wapsi Valley High School.

Becky married Steven Allen Peters, and they later divorced.

She worked housekeeping at Covenant Hospital; she had also worked housekeeping and as a breakfast attendant at the Comfort Inn in Cedar Falls.

Survivors include two daughters, Amanda Hussey and Kassie Peters both of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Kendalynn Hussey, Chance Peters, Shania Peters, and Nevaeh Mettlin all of Waterloo; four sisters: Cynthia Stafford of Edwards, MO, Debra (William) Metzger of Cedar Falls, Lisa (Doran) Scott of Ruthven, and Mary Anne (Jerry) Wildebour of Waterloo; and her birth-father, Robert Stafford of Sedelia, MO

She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Robert and Mary Jo Murphy and her birth mother, Mary Stafford.
