Gary Spieker, Age: 66, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Ravenwood Specialty Care on Sunday, January 14, 2018.
He was born January 16, 1951 in Hampton, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Mabel Van Horn Spieker.
He graduated from Allison High School in 1969. Gary was a housing inspector for HUD (Housing and Urban Development) for 32 years. He retired in 2005.
Gary served in the United States Air Force from 1969 to 1971. He was a member of Hammond Ave. Brethren Church and Cedar Falls AMVETS Post #49. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, rebuilding cars, and fixing everything and anything and had a fondness for dogs.
He is survived by his long-time friend of 45 years, Rochelle Van Ee, Waterloo; brother: Melvin Dean (Charlyn) Spieker, Tama, IA; sister: Bonnie Sue (Dale) Hahn, IN; brother: Randy Ray Spieker, Omaha, NE; sister: Sharon Ann (Clint) Aulston, AR; sister‑in‑law: Connie Spieker, Grundy Center, IA; and many nieces and nephews.
Gary is preceded by his parents, two brothers, Raymond E. Jr. and Allan James Spieker; a sister, Shirley E. Michels; and a brother‑in‑law, Ron Michels.
