Lois Ann Schoof, 87, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Sartori Memorial Hospital.

Lois was born September 16, 1930 in Wausau, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert & Lyda (Benz) Burmeister. She married Merwin "Sam" Schoof on August 2, 1952 in Wausau.

Lois graduated from Wartburg College in Waverly. She was a music teacher in the Denver, Iowa school district; choir director at St. Peter's Lutheran in Denver, Immanuel Lutheran in Independence and St. John Lutheran in Cedar Falls as well as worship coordinator at St. John. Her memberships included P.E.O Chapter F.V., Symphony Guild, Metropolitan Chorale, Sartori Hospital Auxiliary, Tuesday Club and Bremwood Auxiliary.

Survivors include her husband, Sam, of Cedar Falls; her daughter, Pam (Kip) Bryan of Arvada, Colorado; two sons, Bob (Linda Estrada) Schoof of Washburn and Rich (Paula) Schoof of Cedar Falls; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, a son and daughter in infancy, her brother, Robert (Betty) Burmeister and her sister, Lou (Orv) Lohuis.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at St. John Lutheran Church with burial at Harlington Cemetery in Waverly. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home and one hour prior to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John Lutheran Church. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
