LaVera Brodersen

LaVera Rose Brodersen was born on November 7, 1919, in Hiteman, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred and Eliza (Anderson) Sutton. LaVera graduated from Albia High School and attended Gates Business College.

On August 28, 1954, she was united in marriage to Harley Brodersen in Waterloo, Iowa. The couple made their home in Waterloo where LaVera worked as a secretary for Rath Packing for many years. Harley preceded LaVera in death in 2007.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church and enjoyed her dogs and flowers. LaVera died at the age of 97 on Wednesday, October 23, 2017, at Northcrest Specialty Care in Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six sisters, Eliza Bell, Violet, Marguerite, Evalena, Emma, and Florence; and a brother, Alfred. LaVera is survived by a brother, Floyd (Harriette) Sutton of Deerfield, Illinois and nieces and nephews. Please direct memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
