May 27, 1936 - October 9, 2017

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Penny Kuper, 81, of Cedar Falls died Monday, October 9, 2017 at the Cedar Falls Health Care Center.

She was born May 27, 1936, in Chonburi, Thailand, daughter of Nai Umnuoy and Tunom Mesada. She married Donald Kuper on November 1, 2000 in Independence, Iowa.

She worked at IBP, was a pie maker at Village Inn, and then co-owned and operated My Thai Cuisine and Thai Blessings with her daughter. She was a member of Heartland Vineyard Church in Cedar Falls.

Survived by: her husband of Cedar Falls; daughter, Banjong (Montree) Wachakit of Cedar Falls; son, Leland Thomas of Waterloo; five grandchildren: Panida (Terrence Gafeney) Wachakit, J.P. Wachakit, Thatree Wachakit, Yamon Wachakit, and Alex Eastman; one great grandson, Terrence Eric Gafeney; and a sister, Venus Mesada of Thailand.

Preceded in death by: a son, Tinagon “Terry” Eastman; a granddaughter, Hawah Wachakit; and a grandson, Ming Nopalat.

Services: 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12, at Heartland Vineyard Church in Cedar Falls. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service, Cedar Falls, and also for one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment at a later date in Hillside Cemetery, Cedar Falls.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
