Marion “Ozzie” Dale Osborn was born on May 10, 1933, in Ira, Iowa, the son of Clarence and Eva (Bailey) Osborn. Marion graduated from Monroe High School in 1951.

On October 30, 1953, he was united in marriage to Beverly Kleinendorst in Newton, Iowa. Marion served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 and was stationed in Alaska. He worked for Maytag from 1951 to 1961 and for H & H Machine Tool from 1961 until his retirement in 1990. Marion was the president of the UAW Local 1740 from 1973 to 1990. He was a craftsman and enjoyed woodworking and Blue Grass music.

Marion was a member of Kimball Avenue United Methodist Church, the Cedar Falls Amvets Post 49, and was also a Boy Scout Troop leader. He loved his family, faith, friends, music, and life.

Marion died at the age of 84 on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Covenant Medical Center surrounded by his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; a son, Kevin Osborn; four brothers, Walt, Wayne, Ollie, and Ramon Osborn; and four sisters, Blanch Riemenschmeider, Jody Wilcox, Ruth Osborn, and Reatha Adams.

Marion is survived by a special friend, Dee Voorhees; four children, Roxane (Paul) Ash of Waterloo, LuAnn (James) Cundiff of San Antonio, Texas, Brian (Lisa) Osborn of Waterloo, and Melissa (Mark) Kappel of Waterloo; a sister, Irene Hillman of Marshalltown; a brother, Gordy (Kathy) Osborn of Cedar Rapids; a sister-in-law, Net Osborn of Laurel; ten grandchildren, Jennifer (Scott) Claussen, Melinda (Derrick Teague) Ash, Nick (Caitlin Keller) Kappel, Ashley (Brandon Paris) Ash, Zach (Abby Burkhart) Osborn, Deidra Cundiff, Breezy (Jake) Lamphere, Chris Cundiff, Josh (Liz Petrick) Kappel, and Nicolas Cundiff; and four great grandchildren, Isaiah Teague, Xavier Teague, Tobi Wilson, and Olivia Kappel.
