Richard Pete Weichers was born March 13, 1933 in Dumont, Iowa, son of Dick and Sophie (Borneman) Weichers. After high school graduation, Dick served his country in the United States Army.

He was married to Carol Ann Engle on February 22, 1958, in Waterloo. Dick worked for Rath Packing Plant, Johnson’s Bakery, and the Fuller Brush Company. He also worked as a baker for Wonder Bread retiring after 25 years of service. Dick was a Life Time member of the Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed going to the Casino, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Dick passed away at the age of 84 years on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol; his son, Wayne (Lori) Weichers of Cedar Falls; his daughters, Teresa (Brett) Delahunt of Waterloo and Pamela (Ross) Todd of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother Robert (Janet) Weichers of Hutchinson, KS; and two sisters, Phyllis Numelin of Minneapolis, MN and Marilyn (Bob) Marker of Mesa, AZ

Memorials may be directed to Cedar Valley Hospice, the American Red Cross or the Gallagher Bluedorn Center.
