Services:
Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at Garden View Chapel with military rites conducted by the Becker-Chapman American Legion Post #138, V.F.W. Post #1623 and the Iowa National Guard Honors Detail.

Visitation:
Monday at Garden View Chapel and also one hour before the service.

Cemetery:
Entombment will be in the Garden of Memories Mausoleum.

Biography--

Tommie James Plant, 100, of Waterloo, died Friday, July 21, 2017 at North Crest Specialty Care.

He was born May 18, 1917 in Manhattan, New York, the son of Thomas and Corie Plant. He married Emma Florence Short on June 21, 1960 in Wilmar, Minnesota; she preceded him in death on March 18, 1991.

Tommie worked in the Smoke House at Rath Packing Company, retiring after 33 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survived by: three sons, Chuck (Darlene) Beasley of Fallon, Nevada, Herbert Beasley of Waterloo, Richard (JoAnn) Beasley of Waterloo; one daughter, Linda Marvin of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; thirty-six great-great grandchildren and one great-great-great granddaughter.

Preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; two daughters, Fern Baldwin and Darlene Doud; two sisters; two sons-in-law, Loren Baldwin and Lynn Marvin; one granddaughter and one great-granddaughter.

Tommie enjoyed fishing, bowling and gardening.
