Donald D. "Don" Geesaman

October 9, 1932 - June 14, 2017

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Donald D. “Don” Geesaman, 84, of Cedar Falls died Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Western Home Communities Nation Cottage.

He was born October 9, 1932 in Villisca, Iowa, son of Franklyn and Margaret (Berry) Geesaman. He married Marilyn Madsen on August 31, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa.

He graduated from Alden High School in 1950, attended Ellsworth Community College, and worked four years as an electrical apprentice before becoming a journeyman electrician. He was employed in Instrumentation at the John Deere PEC for 40 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of UAW Local 838, and an over 50 year member of Black Hawk Lodge #65 A.F. and A.M. and Order of Eastern Star Cedar Falls Chapter #78. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls.

Survived by: his wife, Marilyn of Cedar Falls; two sons, Doug (Cheryl) Geesaman of Bloomington, MN, and Tom (Alicia) Geesaman of Waterloo, IA; a daughter, Julie (Dale) Anderson of Cedar Falls; five grandchildren: Zachary Geesaman, Lindsey (Matt) Brown, Ashley (Alex) Ross, Eric (Carolyn) Geesaman, and Dustin Anderson; and two great-grandchildren, Lillian Ross and Calvin Brown.

Preceded in death by: a brother, Duane Geesaman.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 17th at First United Methodist Church, Cedar Falls with burial in the Alden Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Richardson Funeral Service and also for one hour prior to the service at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or UnityPoint Hospice.
