Sunday, April 30, 2017 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel; as well as one hour prior to the service Monday

Biography--

Harold L. Kinkade, 91, of Evansdale and formerly of Waterloo, died at Cedar Valley Hospice Home on Thursday, April 27, 2017.

Harold was born on April 1, 1926, in Milford, Iowa, son of Leslie and Iola (Harris) Kinkade.

He graduated from the Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs in 1944.

Harold married Mabel Mary Livingston on May 27, 1945 in Milford; she preceded him in death on June 20, 2015.

He worked as a ham splitter and ham canner for Rath Packing Co. for more than 30 years before retiring. Harold was a member of the Iowa and National Association of the Deaf and President of Cedarloo Association of the Deaf.

Harold was a handyman and a perfectionist when working on a project. He loved and lived for his wife and children. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, and Great-Great-Grandfather.

He is survived by two sons, Darrell (Carol) Kinkade of Waterloo and Douglas Kinkade of Harpers Ferry; a daughter, Kathy (Kevin Olson) McCready of Evansdale; 11 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Patty (Don) Billings of Sun City, CA; and a half-sister, April Kinkade of Milford.

Harold was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Mabel; a great grandson, Justin Kinkade; a son in law, Donald McCready; three sisters, Ida Mae Rauss, Reva Ricker and Norma Jean Kruse; a brother, Roger Kinkade; a sister-in-law, Lillian MacTaggart, and a brother-in-law, Donald Livingston.
