Patricia A. Mullenix 72, of Waterloo died Monday May 29, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

She was born January 22, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Olin and Dorothy Jahn Barmer. She married Jerry Mullenix on April 6, 1968 in Waterloo.

Pat graduated from East High School in 1963 in Waterloo. She attended the University of Northern Iowa (State College of Iowa) and Gates Business College. She worked at Northwestern Bell Co. in Waterloo before moving to Chicago where she worked at the corporate office of Northwestern Railroad. After returning to Waterloo, she worked at AA Motor Club of Iowa. After marriage, she was a stay at home mother and later worked part-time at Jane’s Flowers and Gifts and Peterson and Tietz.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Mullenix of Waterloo; a son, Jeff Mullenix of Waterloo; a daughter, Julie (Antwon) Burnside of Waterloo; and a granddaughter, Avaya Burnside.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Judy Murphy.

She loved the Lord. In 1971 she trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior and Lord. Her Lord Jesus, her family, and her friends were the most important blessings in her life.
