Oleta Louise Derifield was born November 18, 1936 in Centrahoma, Oklahoma: the daughter of Thelmar and Lottie (Bushers) Holland. She was united in marriage to David Derifield on June 19, 1954 in Bakersfield, California; he preceded her in death October, 5 2014. Oleta and David lived in California, later moving to Iowa. She worked as a nurse at Schoitz Hospital, then later worked at John Deere. Oleta enjoyed sewing, going to yard sales and playing cards.

Oleta passed away on Monday, August 8, 2016 at NewAldaya Lifescapes at the age of 79.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; great-grandchild Justin Sabin; and by two brothers, Herman and Vernon Holland.

Oleta is survived by a son, Rick (Diane) Derifield of Waterloo; two daughters, Diana (Ed) Sabin of Syracuse, New York and Connie Mackey-Derifield; by nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and by two brothers, Carl Holland and Robert Holland, both of California.

A memorial fund is being established.
