OBITUARY--

Rose Marie Moberly was born October 6, 1929, in Walker, Iowa, daughter of William and Emir (Berry) Sauer. She attended school in Troy Mills; then moved to Waterloo with her family at the age of 12. Rose attended West High School (formerly West Junior High) until 11th grade, following her father’s death.

Rose was united in marriage to Henry Moberly in 1946 at Grace Methodist Church. The couple was married for 32 years. Rose began her work life at Lyle Ramsey Photography as a scheduler and later moving up to photographer. She also worked as an inspector for Chamberlain Manufacturing and, later, John Deere retiring in 1991.

After retirement, Rose worked for Webbeking Bakery. She volunteered as a transporter at Allen Hospital for 17 years and as a Senior Companion at Friendship Village. Rose was very active at Westminster Presbyterian, volunteering in many capacities. She was an excellent cook, talented baker, and accomplished cake decorator having made all of her family member’s birthday cakes and many wedding cakes. Rose enjoyed bowling, playing cards (she was quite the card shark), and sharing holiday traditions with her family. Most of all, Rose was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a very loving and caring person who was always willing to help and give you a hug.

Rose passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at the age of 87 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Henry Moberly; daughter, Janet VanGundy; by two brothers, Kevin (in infancy) and Neil Sauer; one sister, Karen Peverill; and one granddaughter, Sara Jo VanGundy.

Rose is survived by her son, Michael Moberly of AZ; two daughters, Nancy (Gary) Duffner of Waterloo, Terrie Krogman of St. Louis, MO; three grandchildren: Scott Burch, Kari (Jason) Wisdom, and April Duffner; by six great-grandchildren: D.J., Bethany, Mackenzie, Savannah, Logan and Deven; by three great-great-grandchildren: Aubree, Aniyah and Kira; and by two sisters, Marilyn Ormord of Waterloo and Debbie (Bob) Adams of Wisconsin.
