Jim Hart, 64, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, died Monday, October 17, 2016 at his home of cancer.

He was born July 23, 1952, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Donald & JoAnn (Cramer) Hart. In 1970 Jim began employment as an Orthopedic Technician at Allen Memorial Hospital. Here he met the love of his life, Lois Jean Muller. They were married October 6, 1972 in Cedar Falls. Jim’s career at Allen spanned 41 years until his retirement in March 2011 due to ill health. Jim impacted his colleagues, patients and families with his humor, smile, hugs and his clinical expertise. Jim’s courage and positive attitude during his 12 year battle with prostate cancer was inspirational. Jim was an avid golfer, fisherman, and passionate Chicago Bears fan. He will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Hart of Cedar Falls; his son, Josh (Katrina) Hart of Waukee, Iowa; his daughter, Kara Hart of Waterloo; three sisters, Sandra (Roger Erickson) Hart of Kasson, Minnesota, Pat Hart-Fuller of Eden Prairie, Minnesota and Donna (Galen) Heinle of Mantorville, Minnesota; a sister-in-law, Judy Hart of Chaska, Minnesota; a brother-in-law, Gary Heinle of Bloomington, Minnesota; nieces and nephews, Casey Heinle, Drew Heinle, Brian (Susie) Hart and Traci (Clint) Thomas-Hart, and many great nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Tom Hart; his sister, Nancy Heinle and a brother-in-law, Randy Fuller.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Cedar Heights Community Presbyterian Church in Cedar Falls with inurnment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg, Iowa. Visitation will be from 5-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Dahl-Van Hove-Schoof Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Unity Point-Allen Hospice or the American Cancer Society for prostate cancer research. Condolences may be left at www.DahlFuneralHome.com.
