Biography--

Melissa Ann Peterson, 43, of Evansdale, formerly of Waterloo, died on Sunday, May 15, 2016.

Melissa was born on August 19, 1972, in Waterloo, daughter of Dennis and Mary (Henkle) Duryee.

She is survived by her father; by two sons, Austin (Mariah) Corson of Waterloo and Aaron Corson of Cedar Falls; one grandson, Jaxson Corson; stepfather, Jake DeVoogd of Cedar Falls; longtime companion, Donald Corson of Waterloo; and close friend, Joan Borrett of Waterloo.

Melissa was preceded in death by her mother; a brother, Mark Duryee; maternal grandparents, Jake and Mary Henkle; paternal grandparents, Fred and Evanna DeVoogd; five uncles: Eddie, Albert, Iven, and Charles Henkle and Harold DeVoogd; two aunts, Brinden and Frances Bangarder; and a great-uncle, Harold DeVoogd.
