Biography--

Norma Jane Knudsvig, 87, of Waterloo, Iowa, died Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of congestive heart failure.

She was born April 2, 1929 in Postville, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd L. and Ruth M. (LaVelle) Sires. Norma received her B.A. degree from Iowa State Teachers College.

She married Roland M. “Buzz” Knudsvig on September 9, 1950 in McGregor, Iowa. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2008.

Norma had been a teacher at Jewett Elementary School for many years.

She is survived by one son, Ronnie (Cathy) Knudsvig of Waterloo; three daughters: Vicki (Gary) Sieben of Waterloo, Terri Knudsvig of Cedar Falls, and Lorri Henson of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and three half-brothers: Levi Sires of Waterloo, Jerry (Nancy) Sires of Dunkerton, and Dean (Linda) Sires of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Joseph Henson; two brothers: Vern and Paul Sires; and one sister, June Wenzel.
