Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel, 3146 Kimball Avenue in Waterloo, Iowa.

Visitation:
Wednesday, August 17, 2016 and an hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home.

Cemetery:
Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, Iowa.

Biography--

Darlene E. Mueller, age 90, of Dewar, Iowa, died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Martin Health Care Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

She was born July 20, 1926 on the family farm near La Porte City, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Hazel (Brallier) Burrows. Darlene graduated from La Porte City High School with the Class of 1944.

She was united in marriage to Elsworth Elmer Mueller on December 22, 1945, in Cedar Rapids. He preceded her in death on March 22, 2002.

Darlene was a homemaker. In her younger years she worked as a clerk in La Porte City and during World War II she worked at a manufacturing plant in Waterloo riveting fins on bombs.

She was a member of Raymond United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Dewar Community Center. She enjoyed playing 500 and loved to spend time with her family.

Survivors include three sons: Bruce (Karlen) Mueller of Westgate, Iowa, Steven (Liz) Mueller of Denver, Iowa, and Gail (Robin) Mueller of Waterloo; seven grandchildren: Song Mueller, Todd (Dana) Mueller, Brian (Annette) Mueller, Wesley (Hayley) Mueller, Andrea Mueller, Amy (Josh) Minikus and Katie (Scott) Boisen; six great-grandchildren: Sarah Mueller, Casey Mueller, Joscelyn Mueller, Lauren Boisen, Gage Leland, Kaitlyn Roethler and two on the way; and three sisters-in-law: Vicki Holst of Vinton, Iowa, Wanda Burrows of La Porte City and Shirley Burrows of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; six brothers: Floyd, Leonard, Burdell, Cecil and Robert Burrows and Leland Burrows in infancy; and four sisters: Lorraine Taylor, Vera McClung, Ruby Dodson and Lois Primmer.
