Visitation:
Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel; and for one hour prior to the services on Friday at the church.

Biography--

Mary U. Thomas, 86, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo, on Wednesday, September 7, 2016.

She was born on October 22, 1929 in Des Moines. The daughter of William F. & Marie A. (Lindquist) Fisher. She married Philip A. Thomas, November 18, 1956, in Cedar Falls, he preceded her in death on March 12, 2013.

Mary graduated from Sacred Heart School in Waterloo. She was a Homemaker. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church where she was the treasurer for many years, Key Club, the Legion Auxiliary 138, and PTA

She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia Golden of Waterloo; a son, Steven Thomas of Waterloo; daughter, Pamela (Rick) Roth of Highland, IL; a son, William (Dianne) Thomas of Cedar Rapids; six grandchildren: Karris and Philip (Mary) Golden, Joshua and Garret Roth, Janiece Hillard, and Richard Thomas; and by four great-grandchildren: Zoey Neessen, Scarlett Golden, and Isaiah and Olivia Golden

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Philip; two brothers, William Fisher in infancy and Raymond Fisher; a sister, Berniece Garthoff; and a son-in-law, Isaiah Golden, Jr.
