Visitation:
Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel; and also one hour prior to the services Monday.

Garden of Memories Cemetery with military rites by the Iowa National Honor Guard Detail, Evansdale AMVETS Post #31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post #19

Biography--

Frank Eugene Spencer, Sr., 84, of Waterloo, Iowa, died on September 21, 2016 at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital.

He was born on February 12, 1932, in Marshalltown, Iowa; the son of Scott Calvin and Daisy (Johnson) Spencer. Frank graduated from Marshalltown High School and then graduated from Gates Community College.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era.

He married Mary Elizabeth Potter in 1952, in Waterloo, Iowa, and they later divorced but remained close friends until her death in 2009. Frank married Colleen Fulton on December 7, 1993, in Waterloo.

Frank worked as a millwright in the maintenance department at Rath Packing Company, until the closing of the company. He then worked for the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in the maintenance department and later transferred to University of Northern Iowa.

He was a member of Payne Memorial AME Church. Frank had recently renewed his faith and commitment to Christ as a returning member of Payne AME Church.

Survivors include his wife, Colleen; six daughters: Joleen (Emmanuel) Oladeinde of Chicago, IL, Diana (Lonnie) Sproles of Coralville, Francine (Rich) Thompson of Coralville, Claudia (Ricky) Robinson of Waterloo, Michelle (Kent Kahler) Kremer of Waterloo, Nicole (Marcus) Gardner of Waterloo; five sons: Frank E. Spencer, Jr. of Waterloo, Eric (Oneita) Payne of Waterloo, Brian (Jamie) Fulton of Dunkerton, Travis (Andrea Lucas) Fulton of Parkersburg, Adam Fulton of Evansdale; 27 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Julian Spencer of Marshalltown and Craig (Carol) Spencer of Marshalltown; sister-in-law, Theresa Spencer of Waterloo; son-in-law, Jeff Kremer; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Daisy, Barbara Ann, and Pearl; six brothers: Claude, Calvin, Marvin, Wayne, Leonard, Lawrence, and Clyde, in infancy; and two grandsons in infancy, Jordan Kremer and Messiah Gardner.
