Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Kearns Funeral Service Kimball Chapel; a Celebration of Life Gathering will follow the service at the Waterloo Eagles Club, starting at 4:00 PM

Visitation:
Family will greet friends from 1:00 PM-3:00 PM at the funeral home on Thursday.

Biography--

Richard "Dick" Lee Meyer, age 68, of New Hartford, died at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, on Friday, December 2, 2016, of natural causes.

He was born on June 18, 1948 in Waterloo, Iowa; the son of Clifford Carl & Adelaide Sophia (Schoo) Meyer. Dick graduated from Hudson High School.

He married Linda Roberts, and they later divorced; he married MaryAnne Stover and they later divorced; Dick was united in marriage with Susan “Sue” Clark on April 24, 1999 in Las Vegas, NV.

He worked as a tool and die designer for 25 years at H&H Manufacturing in Cedar Falls; he had also worked for GMT Corp. in Waverly, and Diedrichs & Associates.

Dick was a member of the Proud Image Chorus and the Doo Wops. Dick enjoyed farming, playing pepper, and softball. Dick loved to tell jokes. Some of them were Ole, Sven and Lena jokes. He could do a good Norwegian accent that made them even funnier- and if he could make any joke longer, he would!

Survivors include his wife, Sue Meyer of New Hartford; a son, Jarod (Gina) Meyer of Phoenix, AZ; two daughters, Shayla (Joey) Tirone of Chandler, AZ and Heidi Meyer of Waterloo; a stepdaughter: Mikki (Brian) Strelow of New Hartford; nine grandchildren: Tate Meyer, Sydney Meyer, Dylan Messerschmidt, DiAndra Strelow, Jacob Meyer, Zach Loonan, Zoey Loonan, Emma Loonan, and Josie Loonan; two brothers, Charles "Buzz" (Doris) Meyer of Waterloo and Gene (Marcia) Meyer of Cedar Falls; and a sister, Janice Morgan of Ankeny.

Preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Robert Meyer.
