Mrs. Hans Rudebeck, age 81, was born Eleanor Nichols in Cattaraugus County, New York, on November 29, 1894, the daughter of Nelson and Mary (Livingston) Nichols, and died on Tuesday morning, April 27, at the Parkview Gardens Care Center in Waterloo, IA.
She was married to Hans Rudebeck on November 20, 1917, in Cedar Falls; he preceded her in death on October 8, 1964. She had lived in New York, Minnesota, Nebraska, Kansas and Iowa. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two infant grandchildren, two brothers Harvey and Arthur Nichols; three sisters, Eva Willenbrock, Bertha Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Nichols in infancy.
She is survived by two sons, Dallas of Hampshire, Illinois, and Melvin of Janesville; Mrs. Richard Wideman of Denver, MO; Marjorie, Mrs. Don Mishler of Waterloo; and Lila Lee, Mrs. Harley Wildebuer, of rural Waverly; 19 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren; one sister Fern Bartusch of Stronghurst, Illinois and one brother, Ralph Nichols of Port Charlotte, Florida.
Funeral services for Mrs. Rudebeck will be held on Friday, April 30, at 2 o'clock at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Howard Harris, pastor of the Free Methodist Church in Waterloo, officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon township cemetery in rural Waterloo.
