Biography--

Kim B. Herink, age 63, of Waterloo, died on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at UnityPoint-Allen Hospital.

She was born on March 3, 1953 in Waterloo; the daughter of Kenneth and Shirley (Baichtal) Werkmeister. Kim graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1971.

She married David C. Herink on April 3, 1972 in Waterloo. Kim enjoyed her work at several area greenhouses. She enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting, knitting, making doll clothing, going to the casino, yardwork and flower gardening. Kim cherished spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, David; two daughters, Wendy (Travis) Chapman of Waverly and Mindy (Troy) Deeds of Waterloo; seven grandchildren, Brennan, Lexi, Teigen, Kenni, Michael, Alex, and Amber; seven siblings, Jerry (Jackie) Hardy of Cedar Falls, Terry (Lucy) Hardy of Stockbridge, GA, Claudia Willison of Waterloo, Nadine (Larry) Werkmeister of Waterloo, Richard Werkmeister of Waterloo, David (Stacy) Werkmeister of Traer, Susan Backen of Waterloo; her mother-in-law, Kathleen Herink; and a sister-in-law, Kathie (Al) Johnson of Waterloo.

Kim was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Judy; a grandson, Treston Wolff; a brother-in-law, Leonard Willison; and her father-in-law, Charles Herink.
