Biography--

Shirley A. Myli, age 83, of Cedar Rapids and formerly of Waterloo, died on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Northbrook Manor Care Center in Cedar Rapids.

She was born on October 2, 1933 in Reinbeck, IA; the daughter of Garret John Henry Levers and Clara Emma Rickert Levers. Shirley graduated from Janesville High School.

She married Harvey Philip Myli on June 10, 1951 in Reinbeck; he preceded her in death on January 12, 2015.

She worked at Rath Packing Co. from 1951-1954. Shirley was a member of First Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She enjoyed being a full time homemaker and had vacationed in all 50 states. She was proud to watch her five sons and three grandsons become Eagle Scouts. Shirley cherished time spent with her family and friends.

Survivors include five sons: Rickert (Jacque) Myli of Waterloo, Randall (Sharon) Myli of Peoria, IL, Larry (Kathy) Myli of Plainfield, IL, Kenneth Myli of Peoria, IL, and Bradley (Hope) Myli of Hainesville, IL; two daughters, Peggy Van Dyke of Lisle, IL, and Melody (James) Fuller of Marion; 23 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings, Lorna Iva Levers Mangels Alderman, Carl Rickert Levers, John Henry “Jack” Levers, Myrna Lee Levers Heideman; and two great-grandsons, Trevor and Blake Finke.
