Cedar Falls, Iowa – Gladys Lorene Hirsch, 80, of Cedar Falls, died Sunday, July 3, at Northcrest Specialty Care in Waterloo.

She was born July 6, 1935 in Pitzer, the daughter of Moritz and Blanche (Miller) Christensen. She attended Waterloo Community Schools. Gladys worked at Omega Cabinetry in production and bar tended at the Triangle Tap in Hudson. She retired in 2000.

Gladys is survived by four daughters: Lori (Ron Bakker) Grell of Waterloo, Teresa Peverill of Dike, Kelly Kinkade of Kellerton, and Robin Mooty of Dike; one son, Doug (Ammie) Peverill of Las Vegas, NV; one brother, Don (Marilyn) Christensen of Cedar Falls; three sisters: Pat Landt of Cedar Rapids, Delores Morrison of Waterloo, and Ginny of CA; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and by one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and Jim Christensen, and three sisters: Kay Ham, Gerda Hirsch, and Donna.

A memorial gathering will be from 4-6:30pm Thursday, July 7 at Richardson Funeral Service, with a memorial service beginning at 630pm. Inurnment will be July 8, at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo.
