CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Agnes W. Riebkes, 86, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, December 22, 2016, at her home.

She was born June 23, 1930 in Dike, Iowa, daughter of Vilhelm and Kamma (Christensen) Urup. She married Mel Riebkes on June 26, 1953 at Fredsville Lutheran Church, rural Cedar Falls.

She was employed by the American Martyrs Retreat House for 15 years, retiring in 2004.

Agnes is survived by her husband of Cedar Falls; three daughters, Karen (Steve) Dubiel of Paso Robles, CA, Julie (Jack) Schaffner of St. Charles, MO, and Susan (Mike) Carnahan of Tama; two sons, Rod (Terri) Riebkes of Cedar Falls and Jon Riebkes of Longmont, CO; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two sisters, Grethe Gauger of Waterloo and Elna (Eldon) Dieken of Grundy Center.

Services: Thursday at Orchard Hill Church at Lincoln Center, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery in Dike. Visitation on Wednesday at Richardson Funeral Service in Cedar Falls. Visitation also for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
