Cedar Falls, Iowa – Jere Ramsdell Gregory, 64, of Cedar Falls died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at his home.

He was born April 4, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee, son of George and Shirley (Ramsdell) Gregory. As a child he moved to Oelwein where he lived with his grandparents, Bert and Bernice Ramsdell.

He graduated from Oelwein High School in 1970 and earned his B.A. in education and M.S. in audiology from the University of Northern Iowa in 1983. He worked as an audiologist for Black Hawk Hearing Aid Center in Waterloo before moving to Kalispell, Montana where he worked as an anesthesiology assistant for Dr. James Ronald.

An avid golfer, Jere possessed a lifelong passion for playing, teaching, and discussing the game with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife, Maurine; sons, Michael Gregory of Park City, Utah, and Austin (Claire) Gregory of Chicago, IL; daughter Lauren Gregory of Long Beach, CA; sisters, Sue (James) Ronald of Norwalk, CT, and Andrea (Marc) Hintz of Albuquerque, NM; brothers, Larry Gregory of Cedar Falls and George (Arcie) Gregory of Davenport; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at a date and location to be determined.
