Obituary for Richard "Rich" Kime

Richard “Rich” Kime (1963-2017)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Richard “Rich” Kime, 53, of Cedar Falls died Monday, February 27, 2017 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

He was born November 16, 1963 in Ames, Iowa, son of Byron and Catherine Zenna Kime. He married Shufei Chiu on March 16, 1991 in Pleasant Valley, Iowa.

He graduated from Pleasant Valley High School in 1982 earned his BA degree in Industrial Engineering from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He served in the United States Navy, was Vice President of Sales at MDK Inc. in New Hampton and Sales Manager for Power Engineering Manufacturing in Waterloo.

He is survived by his wife, Shufei of Cedar Falls; four daughters, Richelle Kime of Waterloo, Tia Kime of Logan, Utah, Vanessa and Catherine Kime, both at home; one son, Isaac Kime, at home; his parents, Byron and Catherine Kime of Riverdale; and two sisters, Nancy Kime and Mary (James) Stewart, both of Bettendorf.

Memorial Services: 5 p.m. Sunday, March 5th at Orchard Hill Church in Cedar Falls. Family will receive friends following the service until 7 p.m. at the church. Richardson Funeral Service is assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kime Family Benefit account at any Veridian Credit Union location.
