Biography--

Joan Schreiner, 91, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Lakeview Landing of Friendship Village, Thursday, July 28, 2016.

Joan was born October 14, 1924, in Waterloo, the daughter of Dr. Laurence and Nell Salmon Scott. She grew up in Waterloo, graduated from West High School, attended Iowa State University, and received her Bachelor Degree from UNI.

Joan married Robert Schreiner January 24, 1948 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, he died August 15, 2006. She had worked as a stewardess for TWA, for a utility in Washington D.C., and for
the federal government in Iowa City.

Joan had been an active member and Deacon at Westminster Presbyterian Church, a charter member of both Friends of the Library and Goodwill Industries Auxiliary, on the YWCA Board of Directors, and a member of Junior League and PEO Chapter IU and Chapter IX. She enjoyed reading, hand-work, traveling, bridge, cooking especially her many friends and family.

She is survived by three sons: Mark (Kathy)Schreiner of Waterloo, Kurt (Diane) Schreiner of Davenport, and Lars Schreiner of Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren: Scott (Chelsey) Schreiner, Libby Schreiner, Zachary Schreiner, and Thomas Schreiner and great-grandson, Finn Schreiner.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob; daughter, Kristina Grinnell; and brother Robert Scott.
