Biography--

Mary Ellen Brown, 92, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, formerly of Waterloo, died at Windhaven of Western Home Communities on Monday, August 8, 2016.

She was born July 18, 1924 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Ruby Bray Hogeland and graduated from West Waterloo High School in 1942. She married Bob F. Brown on October 14, 1944 in Chicago, IL. He died November 12, 2014.

Mary worked for Flowerama for many years and at Bill Doran Wholesale Florist. She retired from Hy‑Vee Crossroads Floral Shop as a sales clerk. She had delivered absentee ballots to nursing home residents and was a census reader years ago.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Waterloo; Elklets, Republican Women of Black Hawk County, Schoitz Hospital Auxiliary and many bridge clubs.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Sherri (Jim) Martin of Cordova, IL; daughter, Amy Robbins of Denver, IA; son, Michael (Betty) Brown of Waterloo; daughter, Susan (Mark) Jackson of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren: Tyler Martin, Michael (Toni) Martin, Andrew (Mysti) Robbins, Whitney (Dan Mast) Robbins, Brady Robbins, Sara (Elleana Saloman) Brown, Benjamin Brown, Bryan Brown, Aaron Jackson, and Maryjane (Ryan) Cose; nine great-grandchildren: Taylor Martin, Nolan Martin, Leo Martin, Waveland Robbins, Addison and Isabel Robbins, Walker Hageman, Madeline Rose Saloman and Claire Ellen Cose; and two step-great-grandchildren: Wittney and Taylor Mast.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; and son-in-law, Greg Robbins.
