Biography--

Lucile Rose Hunemuller, 87, of Waterloo, died Sunday, August 14, 2016, at Covenant Medical Center.

She was born March 13, 1929, in Decorah, daughter of Julian B. and Grace Goettelman Arneson. She married Virgil Edward Hunemuller on May 6, 1951, in Decorah.

Lucile graduated from Decorah High School and Wartburg College. She taught first through 12th grade in a one room schoolhouse in Decorah, worked at Dixie Department Store, and babysat many children over the years. She was a member of First Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her husband; three sons: Neal (Maureen) of Las Vegas, Jay of Norfolk, Va., and Chet of Story City; daughter-in-law, Marsheila Hunemuller of Reinbeck, Iowa; four grandchildren: Brian Hunemuller, Angie Hunemuller, Bridgette Hunemuller and Holly (Shaun) Galey; seven great-grandchildren: Kamden, Maklyn, Kipten Hunemuller (and another expected); Acacia, Kyden and Dawson Galey, and Aiden Hunemuller; a sister, Evelyn Halse; and a brother, Earlen Arneson.

She was preceded in death by a son, Scot; and a sister, Edith Hoppenworth.

Lucile enjoyed traveling with family, reading, crossword puzzles and nature. She was a great cook.
