Biography--

Lloyd Lentzkow, 62, of Elk Run Heights, died at his home Tuesday, September 6, 2016, of natural causes.

Lloyd was born February 26, 1954, in Waterloo, son of Ralph Henry and Viola Helen Meier Lentzkow. He graduated from Waterloo East High School and earned a degree in Diesel Mechanics from Hawkeye Tech.

Lloyd married Debra Gillen April 7, 1979, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She died October 29, 2005.

He worked for Chamberlain Manufacturing Company, HyVee, Valley Transportation and Bossard Inc., retiring February 26, 2016.

Lloyd was a man who knew that true joy in this life comes from the simpler things in life. He loved playing cards with his mother, going on bike rides, spending time at the ball diamond with his family, and spending quality time with his grandchildren who knew him affectionately as “Pappa Nut.” He enjoyed cruising in the Evansdale area in his car and frequenting the public parks. He had a deep and undying love for his wife, Deb—a love that did not fade in the least despite her passing in 2005.

Lloyd's defining characteristic was his personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. He loved the scriptures and served the Lord faithfully. He raised his children and grandchildren to love and serve the Lord as well. It is his legacy to them.

Survivors include a daughter Carrie (Jason) Minikus of Elk Run Heights; two sons: Michael (Ashley) Lentzkow of Elk Run Heights and Tom (Sarah) Lentzkow of Waterloo; six grandchildren: Ella and Rhiya Minikus; Hunter, Tanner, and Drake Lentzkow; and Hudson Lentzkow. He is also survived by a brother Steven (Mary) Lentzkow of Waterloo.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents and wife Debra.
