Biography--

Viola Helen Lentzkow, 83, of Waterloo, died at NorthCrest Specialty Care Tuesday, September 6, 2016, of natural causes.

Viola was born April 18, 1933, in Sumner, daughter of George H. and Helen Meyer Meier. She graduated from Sumner High School in 1951.

Viola married Ralph Henry Lentzkow on September 25, 1951, in Sumner. He died in April of 1973.

She worked as a waitress at local restaurants and retired from Chamberlain Manufacturing Company and was a member of Local 1318 at Chamberlain’s. Viola enjoyed taking grandchildren fishing, playing board games and card games and making pancakes.

Survivors include a son Steve (Mary) Lentzkow of Waterloo; seven grandchildren: Carrie (Jason) Minikus, Michael (Ashley) Lentzkow, Tom (Sarah) Lentzkow, Stephanie (Troy) Wygle, Dan (Aly) Lentzkow, Jacob Lentzkow, and Ben Lentzkow; eight great-grandchildren: Ella and Rhiya Minikus; Hunter, Tanner and Drake Lentzkow; Hudson Lentzkow; and Daelynn and Noah Wygle; a brother Don Meier of Newton and sister-in-law Lucille Meier.

Viola is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ralph; son Lloyd Lentzkow; daughter-in-law Debra Lentzkow; brother Harry Meier; and two sisters, Mildred Smidt and Berdina Schellhorn.
