Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Cornerstone Fellowship Church, 5625 Prairie Street, Cedar Falls with full Military Rites by U.S. Navy Honor Guard, American Legion Post 138 and VFW Post 1623 following services

Visitation:
Wednesday March 1, 2017 at Locke Funeral Home where there will be a 7:00 PM 40/8 Boxcar Association service followed by Masonic Rites conducted by Waterloo Lodge #105 A.F. & A.M.

Cemetery:
burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery at a later date

Biography--

Junior Harold Grimm, 90, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Desert Springs Group Home in Mesa, Arizona, Sunday, February 12, 2017, of natural causes.

He was born July 29, 1926 in Waterloo, the son of Harold and Mayme Weber Grimm.

He married Margaret Minnich on September 14, 1946 in Hudson, Iowa. Junior graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1947.

Junior joined the Waterloo Police Department in 1950 as patrolman, he was promoted to sergeant, then lieutenant, captain and retired as chief in 1982.

Junior served in the U.S. Navy during the World War II and Korean Wars and served in the Navy Reserves retiring in 1985 as Master Chief.

He was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship Church, Masonic Lodge #105, High Twelve, York Rite, El Kahir and El Zaribah Shrine, life member of VFW, Cedar Falls Amvets Post #49, past commander of American Legion Post #138, DAV, Past Grand Chef de Gare in Iowa in 1991 of the 40/8 National Boxcar Association, 1968 Father of the year award by the City of Waterloo.

Junior is survived by his wife, Margaret, sons: Stephen (Margo) Grimm, David (Dalen) Grimm, and Richard (Ann) Grimm, and daughter: Jeanne Grimm, all of Waterloo; a daughter in law: Laurie Wiench‑Grimm of Whitewater, Wisconsin; 10 grandchildren; numerous great and great-great grandchildren; and foreign exchange son, Arne Fritjofsson of Uppsala, Sweden.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Roger in 1990; his brother, Donald Grimm and sister, Katherine Bengston.
