Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Locke Funeral Home and for an hour before services at the church.

Biography--

Regina Veronica Huber, 91, of Cedar Falls, died from complications of Alzheimer ’s disease, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Rosewood Estate.

She was born September 13, 1925 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of Arthur and Florence O’hare Anderson. She married Merlyn Huber in 1947 and they later divorced.

Regina graduated in 1943 from St. Mary’s High School in Waterloo and graduated in 1946 from St. John’s School of Nursing in Springfield, Illinois. She worked at St. Francis Hospital in Waterloo and Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls as a head surgical nurse. Her nursing career expanded over 42 years. In her retirement years Regina volunteered at Covenant Medical Center. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Waterloo.

Regina will be remembered for her wonderful “Irish” sense of humor; her great love of animals. Her greatest love was her family. She will be greatly missed. Regina’s family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Rosewood Estate for their dedicated compassionate care for their mom, and also to Compassus Hospice.

Regina is survived by a daughter Marilyn (Charles) Pelton of Waterloo; twin sons: Robert (Sue) Huber of Cedar Falls and Richard Huber and his special friend Jennifer Skarda of Iowa City. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Cory (Rachelle) Pelton of Davenport, Chad and Andrea Huber of Minneapolis, Minnesota; one great grandson Caleb Pelton of Davenport; and one sister Dorothy Brown of Oakridge, Tennessee.

She is preceded in death by a brother Arthur Anderson, a sister Frances Anderson Sullivan, and a grandson Troy Pelton.
