FINAL RITES HELD FOR
MRS. PAULINE SEUFFERLEIN

Funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon, Sept. 5, at two o'clock at the Sanborn Funeral Home for Mrs. Pauline L. Seufferlein, Sanborn's oldest resident who passed away at the home of her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Leemkuil, Tuesday evening, Sept. 2. Rev. R.E. Hodgkin, pastor of the Methodist Church and Rev. Robert E. Baxter, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiated.
Mrs. Harold Saupe, the soloist, sang "When They Ring Those Golden Bells" and "Beautiful Isles of Somewhere" accompanied at the piano by Mrs. Daryle Getting. Pallbearers were Earl Brahan, Wesley Taylor, Fred Wagner, Charles Scace, Ogden Childers and Bernard Hefmeye.

Pauline Linnie Yockstick Seufferlein was born February 5, 1863 to Adam and Hannah Yockstick in Albany, N.Y. They came to Cedar Falls, Iowa when Pauline was three years old. She was educated in the public schools at Cedar Falls.

On September 15, 1887 she was united in marriage to Jacob J. Seufferlein. To this union two children were born, Wesley W. of Lake City, Iowa and Maye G. Leemkuil of Sanborn. Also surviving Mrs. Seufferlein's passing are two grandchildren, Mrs. John Ondrejka Jr., of Fort Dodge and Dr. Eugene Seufferlein of Lake City; six great-grandchildren, Duane Chambers of Cedar Rapids, Margaret Chambers Schleuger of Iowa City, Marsha, Jean and Paul Seufferlein all of Lake City; three great-great-grandchildren, Chris and Marc Chambers of Cedar Rapids and Paula Schleuger of Iowa City. There were four brothers and three sisters who preceded Mrs. Seufferlein in death.

Mrs. Seufferlein, better known to all as "Grams", will be missed greatly by a multitude of people, as she endeared herself to all who came in contact with her, old and young alike. She was 95 years "young" really because her brilliant mind enabled her to converse with those in all walks of life. An extremely kind and gentle person, she always had a kind and good word for all. She loved children dearly and had as many amongst them as she did in older persons.

She was a 50 year member of the Coral Chapter 41, Order of Eastern Star, and the oldest member of Conway Unit 318, American Legion Auxillary, and the Women's Relief Corp and the Rebekah Lodge. She was a life long member of the Methodist Church and active until her health interferred with her attendance and activity.
Burial was in the Roseland Cemetery.
