Mrs. Alice John of Cedar Falls died at age of 80 at Sartori Memorial Hospital at 5:00 am Thursday. She had been at Sartori since fracturing her hip Sept 18. She was a member of the Church of Christ and belonged to the Townsend Club. Born Oct 12 1864 in Ohio daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Rexstrew. She was brought to Cedar Falls by her parents as an infant. On Feb 20, 1884 she was married to David L. Savage and to them 8 children were born. Her husband and two sons preceded her in death. Her husband was killed when struck by a Rock Island train some 15 years ago. In June 1937, she was married to Grant John at Bedford, Iowa and he died Jan 20, 1939. Surviving are her children: Mrs. Tom Anderson 924 W 22nd Cedar Falls IA, George Savage Rt 3, Mrs. Frank Roberts 515 Franklin Wauconda, IL, Mrs. Nick Ilax 210 Olive St all of Cedar Falls, Mrs. Albert Mitchell, Wauconda Ill. and John Savage of Marysville Washington. The body is at Brown Funeral Home.
