Leading Hudson Woman Called

Hudson-April 30- (special) - Mrs. Charles Yockstick of Hudson passed away yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock after two years of intense pain and suffering, death being due to cancer and tuberculosis. Through all her months of suffering, she was patient and uncomplaining, and showed in her quiet endurance of pain her beautiful Christian character. She had been confined to her bed since a year ago last Thanksgiving day.

Deceased, whose maiden name was Lucinda Strayer, was born in Hudson in 1871 and had spent all her life in this vicinity, being 38 years of age at her death. She was married February 24, 1892 to Charles Yockstick and their married life was spent on a farm near Hudson until three months ago when they moved to town. They had only one child, a daughter, Iva, who is now 11 years old.

Besides the husband and daughter, there are left to mourn the mother of the deceased, Mrs. George Strayer, of Hudson, and three brothers and one sister, W.D. and Bert Strayer and Mrs. Wm. Crownover, Hudson; Charles Strayer, Ocheyedan.

One sister died in infancy and another sister, Mrs. Rebecca Whitehead, passed away a few years ago.

The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Brethren church of which the deceased was a faithful member. Rev. E. L. Hildebrand of Waterloo will conduct the services and the burial will be in the Hudson cemetery.
