Carol L. Brenden (1947-2016)

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA – Carol L. Brenden, 68, of Cedar Falls died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

She was born December 22, 1947, in Burlingame, California, daughter of Rev. Marvin and Helen (Wick) Kampfe. She married Dr. Darwin “Reed” Brenden on October 11, 1975 in Mason City, Iowa.

She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and earned her BA degree in Education from the University of Dubuque. She taught kindergarten in the Cedar Falls Community School District for 20 years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of Heartland Vineyard Church, Cedar Falls.

She is survived by her husband; three sons: Reed (Amanda), Timothy (Erica), and David (Rachael), all of Cedar Falls; seven grandchildren; a brother, David (Sally) Kampfe of Dublin, OH; and a sister, Judith (David) Walsh of Dubuque.

Preceded in death by: her parents.

Memorial Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Heartland Vineyard Church. Visitation from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Richardson Funeral Service, and for one hour prior to the services Monday at the church. She deeded her body to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program.

Memorials may be directed to the Cedar Falls Community Schools Foundation, University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, or Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
